What is advantages of galvanized

The term “galvanized” means that the metal has undergone a special zinc treatment. Essentially, the basic wire is completely coated with a very thin layer of zinc. It is this zinc coating that imparts useful properties to the galvanized wire. Zinc can be applied by actually immersing the wire in a molten zinc bath, or it can be electroplated onto the surface of the wire.

Protecting steel structures with galvanized steel can bring you ten main, measurable benefits.

1. The cost is relatively low.
2. Less maintenance/lowest long-term cost. Even when the initial cost of galvanizing is higher than alternative coatings, galvanizing is almost always the cheapest in the long run (because it lasts longer and requires less maintenance). Moreover, when the building is located in a remote area, and when a factory shutdown or production interruption is involved, maintenance can cause problems and increase costs.
3. Long life. In most rural environments, the life expectancy of galvanized coatings on typical structural components far exceeds 50 years, and can reach more than 20 to 25 years even in severe urban and coastal environments.
4. Reliability. Galvanizing is carried out in accordance with Australia/New Zealand Standard 4680 and the standard minimum coating thickness is applied. Coating life and performance are reliable and predictable.
5. One of the most important characteristics of galvanized wire is its anti-rust ability. This is why it is very suitable for outdoor use, such as on fences. Continuous rain and damp weather will quickly rust the non-galvanized wire. The salt in the shipyard can also cause potential rust problems in many equipment in this environment. However, even in humid and salty conditions, galvanized wire can hold it well.
8. Easy to check. Galvanized coatings are easily evaluated by the naked eye, and simple non-destructive thickness testing methods can be used. The galvanizing process is such that if the coatings appear to be intact and continuous, they are intact and continuous.

10. A complete protective coating can be applied within a few minutes; the galvanizing process does not depend on weather conditions
