Barbed wire history

Around the middle of the nineteenth century, most of the farmers in the United States began to reclaim wasteland, moving westward to the plains and southwestern borders. Due to the migration of agriculture, farmers have become more aware of changes in the environment, which marked a gradual shift from woodland in the east to a drier grassland climate in the west. Because of the difference in temperature and geographic location, the plants and habits of the two places are also quite different. Before the land was reclaimed wasteland, because the land was filled with stones and lack of water resources, when agriculture moved over, due to the lack of agricultural tools and corresponding agricultural techniques adapted to the local area, many places were left unoccupied. In order to adapt to the new planting environment, many farmers began to install barbed wire fences in their planting areas.
Due to the migration from east to west, raw materials have been provided to the masses of people. They have built stone walls from the original east, and in the process of migrating to the west, people have discovered many tall trees, wooden fences and raw materials. This aspect gradually expanded to the south. At that time, cheap labor made construction easier. However, in the westernmost part, because rocks and trees were not so abundant, the installation of fences was not so extensive.
Due to the lack of materials in the early land reclamation, people’s traditional conception that the fence can play a protective role can prevent their own borders from being destroyed by other external forces and trampled by animals, so the awareness of protection is very strong.
Due to the lack of wood and stone, people are constantly looking for alternatives to be used as fences to protect their crops. From 1860 to 1870, people began to cultivate plants with thorns as fences, but the results were minimal because of the scarcity of plants, the high price, and the inconvenience of construction, they were abandoned. The land reclamation process is not so smooth due to the lack of fences. It was not until 1873 that a new research result changed their predicament. DiCapule, Illinois, invented the use of barbed wire to protect his land. From then on, the barbed cord has just entered the process of history

Production process and technology:

In China, most factories that produce barbed wire directly process galvanized wire or plastic-coated iron wire into barbed wire. This method of twisting the barbed wire will increase the production efficiency, but sometimes the barbed wire is not fixed enough With the development of technology, some manufacturers have begun to use the process of adding some embossing, so that the surface of the wire is no longer completely smooth, thus greatly improving the effect of stabilizing the barbed distance.
